Experienced Baker
Location: Oakville, Ontario
Position Type: Full-Time
We are a growing high-production bakery specializing in the manufacturing of premium, health-conscious consumer packaged goods. As we scale up our operations, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Baker with a strong background in high-volume production. The ideal candidate will have the expertise to support and streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and uphold our strict quality, health, and safety standards. This is an opportunity to play a key role in optimizing production, packaging, and distribution in a rapidly expanding business. This position is ideal for someone with leadership potential who is ready to grow into a more senior role.
Key Responsibilities:
Baking & Production:
- Prepare and bake a variety of muffins and other baked goods according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Ensure consistency in product quality, taste, and presentation.
- Manage production schedules to meet daily and weekly demand, optimizing workflows for efficiency.
- Operate and maintain bakery equipment, ensuring all tools and machinery are in proper working order.
Leadership & Process Improvement:
- Contribute to the optimization of bakery operations as we scale up production.
- Support and implement process improvements to increase efficiency while maintaining product integrity.
- Train and support junior baking staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Work closely with the owner and team to enhance production, packaging, and distribution workflows.
Health, Safety & Compliance:
- Support the maintenance and enhancement of our HACCP program, ensuring compliance with all food safety regulations.
- Adhere to and promote best practices in sanitation and workplace safety.
- Monitor inventory and ingredient storage to uphold food safety standards and minimize waste.
Packaging, Distribution & Inventory Management:
- Oversee packaging and labeling of consumer-packaged goods for retail and wholesale distribution.
- Assist in streamlining packaging and order fulfillment processes to meet growing demand.
- Manage receiving and inventory of raw ingredients and final product in collaboration with the team.
- Order ingredients and supplies to maintain efficient production.
Customer Service and Cafe Operations:
- Open and close the retail bakery and cafe.
- Take and fulfill customers' orders.
- Prepare espresso and non-espresso beverages according to the proper recipes.
- Use and maintain coffee and espresso equipment.
- Ensure coffee and espresso counter is stocked, and order items that need to be replenished.
- Operate and balance cash.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a high-production bakery environment, preferably in consumer packaged goods.
- Strong understanding of bakery production processes and efficiency optimization.
- Current and valid Food Handlers Certificate.
- Exposure to HACCP practices and food safety compliance.
- Leadership potential with an interest in growing into a senior role.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.
- Passion for high-quality, nutritious baked goods.

This position may be funded in part through either the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program or the Student Work Placement Program (SWPP). We welcome applications from candidates who are eligible for one or both of these grants.

Catering and Events Manager
Position Type: Contract
Compensation: $20–$25/hour, based on experience plus commission and gratuity
We are looking for a dynamic and self-motivated Catering and Events Manager to lead the growth and execution of our catering and events business. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building client relationships, has a passion for creating memorable experiences, and can manage projects from pitch to clean-up with grace and professionalism.
This is a great opportunity for someone who has previously run a catering business or managed events independently and is looking for the stability and confidence of working with an established brand. You'll have the freedom to manage your own schedule while being backed by a business known for its integrity, quality, and strong reputation in the community.
We’re especially looking for someone who is passionate about nourishing food and values the importance of wholesome, real ingredients. Hands-on food preparation experience is essential, as this role involves both kitchen and customer-facing responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Client Acquisition & Sales
- Proactively seek out new catering and event clients through cold calling, networking, and online promotion
- Deliver samples as needed to showcase products and convert leads
- Prepare detailed and accurate quotes, ensuring clear communication of expectations and feasibility
- Collect deposits and payments in a timely manner
2. Scheduling & Logistics
- Schedule all aspects of the order or event, including production and delivery timelines
- Secure necessary permits and permissions
- Order and track all required supplies to ensure timely receipt and availability
3. Fulfillment & Execution
- Prepare catering orders to meet our quality standards
- Deliver and set up orders at the event or client site
- Serve as the responsible point of contact during events, including being physically present for the full duration of all events held at our location
- For off-site, client-hosted events, be present for delivery and setup, and remain available by phone throughout the event in case additional items are needed or any issues arise
- Ensure all items are collected, cleaned, and returned post-event
- Maintain the cleanliness, health and safety of our facility in accordance with established health and safety procedures
- Take high-quality photos of displays for marketing (faces only included with written permission)
4. Follow-Up & Relationship Building
- Check in with clients post-event to gather feedback and testimonials
- Maintain and grow relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals
- Resolve any remaining details to professionally close out each project
